RTP: My Journey

This will be the page where I chronicle my Real Time Physique training programme, for me it will be hard to show you and anyone looking in can view it of course.

So why am I doing this then?  Well I dont want to look like I do now any more, I want to be fitter than ive ever been, I want to get back to the place I was at 6 years ago and surpass it, I know that as long as this programme works I will be.

The programme im talking about is called Metabolic Surge, made my Nic Niellson and made famous (in my eyes) by Adam Waters, this programme has everything in it, training schedules, meal plans, supplements that are good, everything.

Day 1:  Well today ive started the programme, low carb day number one and finding anything low carb out here in Afghanistan is trouble but I managed breakfast ok.  Ive yet to eat lunch or dinner or hit the gym so we shall see how it goes.  Picture of my physique will be uploaded tonight before the gym.

Ive had lunch now which consisted of Turkey, Sweetcorn, Lettuce and water, It had a whole 3g of carb in the lot.  My body is hating me for it now and I can feel it craving the usual shit I normally cram in, but we shall persevere.

Day 2:

A little sore from the gym last night and woke up to having to eat the same shit again, seriously considering jacking this in since its so hard to minimise carbs out here, there simply isnt enough scope for low carb eating whilst on det, all the food is packed with carbs to keep everyone going.  I feel like ive not only reduced carbs but also the amount of calories im taking in, im feeling seriously shit!

Ill see whats being served tonight in the mess, if I can make it work then ill go for it but if not I may end up breaking already…..

Epilogue:

Well I failed on day two it seems but the reasons for it are eay.  The distinct lack of anything low carb being served in the mess.  This programme DEPENDS on you being able to carefully control what you are putting into your body, when you lose this control there is little you can do.  Case in point, last night in the mess at dinner there was NOTHING low carb at all, I was looking at 100g plus in everything, this would lead me to eating nothing (and not taking in enough calories anyway) and just getting hungry.
What ive decided to do is to hit the gym as it says to in the plan, but just not do the eating part.  I will do the whole programme once I get home but this will be my “warm up” period.  Even if not eating what the programme tells me to I will be hitting the gym hard and even if im not shredding as much as I should be ill be in better shape to tackle the programme proper.

AN UPDATE:

Well its been a while but im still planning on hitting this programme running once im home.  However ive not been slack, ive been doing the cardio and weight programme listed here for a few weeks now and I must admit the weight is slicing off.  Im down 13kgs since starting it, it may be more since I didnt weigh myself after my last gym session.

Also last night I had a go at the Kandahar Ironman challenge in the gym which consists of a 5km Row, 30km cycle and a 5km run to finish.  In the end I clocked a time of 1hr 41m 1s which for my first go is good, I wanted sub 1hr 30 but it will come.  Cant wait to get shredding!
