TMG in Afghanistan: Day 102

Another couple of days closer and another saturday is upon us!

Mrs B made me a sad panda yesterday.  SHe told me that the first proper weekend im home after being here in Afghanistan that she is going to her mums to help her move house.  Now at any other time I wouldnt mind, however this is the FIRST weekend im home, am I being unreasonable that im upset she wants to spend it at her mums?
I know her mum didnt choose the date to move, but if it was one week later I probably wouldnt have had a problem with it, now I need to cancel the booking I had for us for a surprise weekend away in London.  Im starting to wonder whether she has her priorities right, yes its her family, but arent I her family too?

Anyway, its saturday which means its market day.  Im not really on the lookout for anything in perticular but ill take a usual look at the DVDs to see whats new out at the cinema, its really pot luck on the quality, some of the new releases ive had have been perfect, whilst others have been: to quote a friend “filmed on a fucking mobile phone”  The box sets are generally ok, I may take a look at one or two ive had my eye on.

Also ive finally cracked open my Bleach boxed set.  Ive watched up to episode 160 odd already on the internet (In Japanese with english subtitles, none of this dub shit tyvm) but this set is purely Japanese, no subs at all, im still enjoying it tremendously, its probably a good thing that ive seen it before since I know whats going on, but it just goes to show what a great Anime it is if I can sit and watch it in Japanese.

19 days to go, tomorrow is March, the month im coming home, im so excited just to be at home and not have to think about things will be lovely.  That and I dont need to be back to work till the 20 Apr is amazing, its just what ill need a nice long break.  Theres so much I can do with my time.

I know mini me wants to go to Longleat so we will do that, along with my weekend away (maybe) Christmas in March etc.  Once we get our car we can go anywhere!  I really am going to enjoy this.  Thats my first priority when I get back, get a car in the first week,  then I can drive around to different places as a family, I just hope the weather is nice so we can go places.

Work itself is slow now there is another person here, im typing this in between inputs while the PC is whirring in the background.

Happy Treble Figures!!!!!!!!

Today was shit, its like heres as many problems we can think of and have them all at once.  Still day is almost over now so ill just get on with it.  Im hoping to finish family guy soon, the current season only have three episodes per disc meaning only about an hour per disc.  Maybe I can get through it in the next couple of days.

Still just counting the days, its getting so close now, im looking forward to getting back and shaving my own orange mohawk into my hair (literally) to celebrate Slayers in WAR.  Ill be sure to post a piccy for you all

TMG in Afghanistan: Day 99

Well nearly at the century point! Well what have I been up to? I penned the 6th track for my band which was nice and also im pretty much on wind down now. I can see the final push, nearly in the month im going home and ive started to chillax. Unfortunately another 3 guys may have bit the big one today but im still here. My thoughts go out to those families.

SO what have I been doing with my spare time when I havent been writing music?  Ive been watching the entire Family Guy programme, so far im on season 5 (although ive already watched season 7)  Now before this I had never seen family guy but after watching a few I can honestly say its a lot of fun,much more mature than The Simpsons but both have a place in my heart.

Apart from that and music I havent been doing anything, im looking forward to getting back and getting together with the guys to show them the tracks I have written, heres hoping we can find some music to put them too hahah.

So far with the competition with Tim Hortons im not doing so well, so far ive won one free coffee and ive drank 6!  Those odds are poor! But im determined that a cap will be mine!!!  As long as I manage the dollars left in my pocket since I dont really want to take any more cash out.. whats the point!

Anyhoo thats really about it, Mrs B hurry up and write me a fucking letter, you are the only person who hasnt!  Hell I think Nikita has written me one!

TMG in Afghanistan: Day 98

Well here we are then with something to report!  Tim Hortons Coffee shop here in KAF is running a competition to win some prizes when you buy a coffee.  They include: Laptops, Cash Prizes, Caps and food and drink prizes. It is my aim to win either a hat or a Laptop by the time I leave.  Id love the hat since I dont really need the laptop but we shall see.

The question is though, how much coffee is it safe to drink in a day for the average person?  Ill be looking at knocking back 5-6 large cappuccinos a day to see if I can win one.  So far ive drank 3 and won a free one.

So yeah, lets get me coffeed up!!!!!

Well something minor to report really. We had a quiz last night which we did abysmally at but was fun nonetheless, we also had a rocket attack for the first time since December, was unexpected but just goes to show you that the threat is still there, it landed very close to one of the dining facilities, thank god nobody was in the area.

Tonight ill be going to a Rave…… yes I know what you are thinking, a rave in the middle of Kandahar… but those crazy dutch are throwing one so may as well take a look at it and see how insane it is!

TMG in Afghanistan: Day 93

Three days since the last update, no real reason for not doing one, ive just either been at the gym or working on my music.  So far ive managed to pen three tracks, ive yet to put the music to them but at least the lyrics are there, no doubt they will evolve as I find a melody which fits them.

Once they are complete and I get them recorded ill host them on my webspace for ease of listening and download.  Mind you I still need to find out if the guitarist ive got in mind is actually “in” and then there is the whole debacle of finding drummer / bassist.  Ill see what I can figure out.

So anyway, 28 days or so to go, hooray, bring em all on

TMG in Afghanistan: Day 90

Im pretty sure its day 90 anyway! Im so sorry its been a long  time between posts but I really didnt find all that much which I could write about. First off can you all just say a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mrs B its her birthday today and im sure that she would appreciate all your messages what with me out here in nowhereistan.

Work wise its only getting easier, each day I clear any of the work I had by about 10am meaning the rest of the day is either spent waiting for work or simply chatting and reading the internet.

My mum has recently gotten into the whole internet generation and spends a lot of time on facebook or sending emails, not bad for a lady in her fifties!

Still im counting the days down till im home, its really not all that much left now, just over 30, a month!  It will fly, I count in 10 days stints, it may actually be less time than that since my flight is being booked for the 19th!!! MWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I eally do hope I get to go then since i feel like im done out here now, its just my time to go, the scariest thing is that in our office im now the guy who has been there the longest, that is so scary.

So yeah maybe coming home earlier than thought, bring the noise

TMG in Afghanistan: Day 85

I apologise now if it is actually day 84 today but I cant remember hahahaha im great!

Well today something DID happen, the tv show Great British Menu came to film us for the show, they asked us some questions and then told us that they may need us to travel to Halton in June to shoot the actual episode we are being filmed for.

Apart from that nothing happened. Im going to be brief again as there really is little to say, im just ticking off the days ones by one and trudging on, at least I come home next month.

TMG in Afghanistan: Day 83

Well not a lot has really happened again.  One of my room mates is finally going home so we have a new guy with us now.  The other guy in the room will be leaving in a few days and his replacement is a chick meaning we have a spare bed, ill be moving to the bottom bunk as soon as he goes mwahahahahahah.

Apart from that its been a slow day,  just plodding along waiting to eventually go home, I cant complain since the days and time is still flying which means that its really not that long to go, god bless February only being a short one 😀

I bought myself some CDs via Amazon.co.uk which I have to commend at being able to send to BFPO addresses here in theatre, at least we can get stuff!!!  Amazon you rock!

I also got Mrs B a birthday present sent to the house since ill be out here for her special day which is in fact next monday, shame I cant be with her but I soon will be I go home NEXT MONTH WOOHOOOOOOO!!!
