About

Me!

Welcome to the first of what will, hopefully, be many posts by yours truly. The blog scene has really taken off as of late. Personally I feel I have things to add, a blog is, in essence, an online diary, albeit one which millions of people are able to read.

First a few things about me: My name is Scott, I’m twentysomething and I currently live in Lyneham, near Swindon in the UK. I say currently as I am in the Air Force, ergo I tend to move around a lot. I am married to a wonderful woman called
Tracy and I have a son, Luke and a daughter, Bethany.

I first began the perilous world of online gaming nearly ten years ago (yes I was one of those annoying 12 year old gamers!!) with the delights that were Ultima Online, a game which I occasionally nip back to but not often. Ill wait till I can see what Kingdom Reborn does for UO before I even think about giving it another go.

I moved onwards through Dark Age of Camelot and Everquest 2, City of Heroes, Lineage 2, World of Warcraft and now Lord of the Rings Online.

Now for some in game information, no matter the game my “main” has the same name: Borgio Finstermoor. Now there is history behind this name which I will indulge you with if you care to sit and listen.

Back in the days of UO I was known as Topcat, hell before UO my nickname was Topcat. I wont go into that one here we are more interested in Borgio. My best friend pointed out a Role Playing Guild on Europa, known as The Guardsmen Militia. These guys demanded a new character with a nice RP friendly name. I still remember my friends exact words “Just pick something from Warhammer or summit” And so I did.

Warhammer junkies will recognise Borgio as Borgio the Besieger, from the Dogs of War. The name, I thought, was cool at the time. And the lore behind the character was cool. He got shot by a cannonball but didn’t die. He made this cannonball into a maul which he wielded in battle. Funnily enough he was killed in his sleep in the end.

The surname has no Games Workshop connotations at all. My first main guild in UO was called The Veterens of Finstermoor or VOF for short. This eventually crumbled but the name lives on.

All of my characters share the common theme of name so finding me online isn’t a problem. All of my characters are either ORGIO or ORGEO (the E came from when I wanted Borgio again)

Each class of character I create has a certain name, Warriors are Borgio, Stealthers are Vorgio, casters are Xorgio and my cleric types are Jorgio (which sounds pretty good!)

Ok so who am I in game now? I am the Guildmaster of the guild Aeternitas in WoW. Currently using my 70 Draenei Warrior, my main until then was a Warlock (also 70 with just under 1k spell damage)

DAoC I am Borgio the Dwarf Healer and Borgeo the Dwarf Savage for Sleeping Dragons. I used to Be Borgio the Armsman on the Euro servers but they were dying.

Everquest I am Borgio the 61 Shadowknight and Borgeo the 80 Berserker both of which are in Blood and Steel on Runnyeye. I transferred my SK from Oasis where I have lots of memories and lots of people I wont forget, Priss, Analia to name two. But Runnyeye has the right time zone for me.

LOTRO I am Borgio, 42 Dwarf Guardian for Fates
Chosen. Now Fates Chosen is a funny “kinship” Its made of ym old DAoC Euro alliance, so we have all be friends for a while.

That’s enough about me. Hopefully in this blog I can give you insights into my thoughts on gaming, MMO, life the universe and everything.

Enjoy the ride!

Very interesting blog, I’ve been reading it over for a while now and have been dying to ask if you were still using the warhammer beta? and If you weren’t could I try it out on your account? Without changing any information and stuff?

    Thanks!
